Linda's testimonial

Linda is one of my patients who remains very active into her 50's. Without proper care, the injury Linda sustained could have easily derailed her exercise routine and prevented her from returning to the level of activity she was accustomed to.
My first goal with Linda was to assess the extent of her injury and develop a care plan that would get her back on track. I wanted to help Linda resolve her injury as quickly, yet safely, as possible because the longer she remained inactive, the harder it would be to return to her usual exercise intensity.
The first phase of care involved reducing the joint swelling and inflammation while reducing irritation of the joint due to improper joint biomechanics. After the inflammation was under control and the pain had resolved considerably, I taught Linda specific stretches and strengthening exercises to correct the biomechanic assymetries in her muscles and joints that contributed to the injury in the first place.
The next phase of Linda's care involved maintenance adjustments and educating Linda on her running gait and footwear so that she used her body more efficiently while running, further reducing the likelyhood of a recurrence.
